History

Based on Ruth Lorenz’s ACCESS1.3b uakpe run. Sea surface temperature and sea ice input files for historical period provided by Dan Copsey (Met Office) . For projection period based on ACCESS1.3 CMIP5 runs. Set up on Raijin by Ruth Lorenz with help from Scott Wales and Jhan Srbinovsky.

Use Cases

Control run for GLACE-CMIP5 experiments (uamoa, saves soil moisture at every timestep), Experiment A with soil moisture prescribed to 1971-2000 climatology from uamoa(uamon) and Experiment B with soil moisture prescribed to 30 year running means from uamoa (uamom).

Modules of the Experiment

Atmosphere UM 7.3
Land Surface CABLE 2.0.1
Ocean Prescribed (AMIP)
Configuration HadGEM3 (beta)

Performance

At 8x16 cores, 1 year run takes about 2h40

Job submission

uamoa, uamon, uamom (accesscollab)

Note

New cable.nml file necessary to activate GLACE type run to write (CTL) or read (Experiments A and B) soil moisture data.
