Description
A pre ACCESS1.0 version of the UM 7.3 changed from N96 to N48 resolution with a slab ocean included in the UM-code. This is designed to do long (many years) global climate simulations. It is the basis for coupled simulations with simplified ocean components.

History
A pre ACCESS1.0 version of the UM 7.3 changed from N96 to N48 resolution with a slab ocean included in the UM-code.
Use Cases
This is designed to do long (many years) global climate simulations. In open ocean points it simulated SST variability with a slab ocean with a 50m depth. A mask can be used to hold the SST at desired regions at prescribed values.
Modules of the Experiment
Atmosphere | UM7.3 |
Land Surface | MOSES |
Ocean | Slab Ocean with mask for prescribing SST at desired locations |
Sea Ice | Prescribed |
Performance
On NCI-RAIJIN it computes about (slightly more than) 1yr per 1hr CPU time with 48 processors.
